For many people, the various martial arts seem interesting, however, they miss the reference to real life and the applicability in their personal everyday life respectively. You would like to profit from your sports directly, feel safer in precarious everyday situations through it and increase your self-esteem. If you feel the same, then you should deal with Ju-Jutsu a little more thoroughly. This is virtually a combination of classic martial arts and a modern, real-world self-defence system.
With Ju-Jutsu, self-defence is at the centre, as the name already indicates. Translated, it means as much as "gentle art". The idea to this is that any self-defence technique learned in this art is effective and applicable against several ways of attack at once. An aim consists in rehearsing the sequences of movements of the single techniques long enough until they have literally become second nature to the athlete and that he can therefore completely concentrate on the attacks of the opponent. Thereby, the self-defence techniques are virtually automated with the athlete being prepared on every action and reaction of his opponent.
Another aim of the Ju-Jutsu is to obtain the greatest possible benefit by use of the smallest possible number of effective self-defence techniques available. This is reached by the variable possible applications of every single technology particularly.
Ju-Jutsu-Equipment at KWON
Since there is a large variety in Ju-Jutsu, special requirements are made both to safety equipment as well as to clothes and the accessories. Everything must be usable in a multifunctional way and must withstand major load. KWON offers you a great choice of equipment especially for Ju-Jutsu sports. All equipment parts are manufactured with select materials in the highest quality and are subject to permanent strict tests. Here an overview of the individual categories at KWON in the area of Ju-Jutsu:
Training / Fighting Uniform
Since Ju-Jutsu is a very dynamic and rich in movement sport, the training uniform worn during such sport must be equally durable. The uniforms available on KWON are all extremely well manufactured and made of the most robust materials.
Formed like boxing gloves, but more open and therefore more flexible – these are the hand protectors of KWON, specially devised for the Ju-Jutsu sport. They offer support and security for hands and wrists in every situation.
Shin and Instep Protector
In addition to the hands, in Ju-Jutsu sports, the shins and insteps in particular require the best possible protection. This is achieved by the specially formed shin and instep protectors of KWON. Thick padding offers maximal protection; at the same time the legs keep flexibility by use of soft, elastic materials.
Use of Ju-Jutsu
Due to its open and versatile concept, Ju-Jutsu is not only practiced by hobby sportsmen, but also finds favour with security agencies and security services. Meanwhile it has become inherent part of the training at the police, the judiciary or the customs and is being taught in form of seminars for prospective security forces.
Ju-Jutsu in Practice
Ju-Jutsu is respected sport in Germany which is staged in different forms and competitions. The classic competition lasts for two minutes twice; in between there is a one minute break. Here, two competitors face each other; the fight is staged with controlled blows, kicks, throws and levers. The weight classes for ladies go from up to 55 kg over up to 62 kg and up to 70 kg. Finally there is a group for lady fighters weighing more than 70 kg. For men, the various weight classes are staggered from 62 to over 94 kg, of course with corresponding intermediate categories as well.
In addition to single combats, there are so-called duo competitions in Ju-Jutsu, where two competitors each compete against each other in couples. The duo competitions can be held either as pure men or lady fights or as mixed doubles as well. A jury supervises the fights and in each case allocates points for combinations and techniques applied. Both the dynamics of the fight as well as the reaction and the effectiveness of the blows, kicks etc. used, are taken into account.
A special form of the Ju-Jutsu is the so-called Bo-Jutsu, the fighters having a fighting stick - called "Bo" - at their disposal. So this is a combination of stick fighting and classic Ju-Jutsu.
A variant of Ju-Jutsu was developed especially for women self-defence. At this, the exercises are specifically tailored to the needs of women who would like to develop more self-confidence and to be able to defend themselves effectively in extreme situations. Meanwhile women Ju-Jutsu is being offered in more and more martial arts schools in Germany.
Hardly any other martial art offers comparable variety and dynamics to that of Ju-Jutsu. Here, everybody caring to lift himself to a new level, both physically and intellectually, is pleased. Ju-Jutsu has many positive effects on the athlete’s everyday life; he becomes more effective, both physically as well as mentally, and more balanced at the same time. So no wonder, more and more people indulge in this interesting sport.
